Todays Monday morning gallery is a bit of a different one. I made a trip to Dunn’s Swamp and while it wasn’t specifically a fishing trip I did manage to drag two of the Hobies there for a few hours on the water. Unfortunately the fishing was slow as the nights are still fairly cold out west but it was undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places I have ever fished. The whole thing is a steep sandstone valley that has been dammed and flooded and makes for an awesome view while fishing. Add to that not a lot people go there since it’s called a “swamp” (which it most definitely isn’t) and its close proximity to other more popular fishing dams like Windamere. It has been stocked with Golden Perch and Murray Cod and I can imagine if they were on the chew it would be the perfect place for a weekend fishing getaway.
