The four of us are very lucky to have a close association with Brad. Chances are, if you have flicked through a fishing mag in the last twenty years you will have already seen many images by Brad. Apart from just doing fishing related images, whether they are product related or of actual fish, he has an amazing passion for many other styles and subjects when it comes to images.
I’m the first to admit, I’m the least photographically quallified of the four of us but even not knowing the intricacies of what technically went into the making of a many of the images, I am still gobsmacked by how amazing many of them are.
I get little glimmers of the effort that goes into them when Brad tells me he was up an hour before sunrise to get set up for a long exposure sunrise shot where there is a 3 to 4 minute window where the light is perfect. Miss it, and you have to wait until the weather is perfect again. Or appreciate that to be able to blow one of these images up to the size of a wall, how big the file is and how high the rsolution is on it (there was one picture with flowers in it that he zoomed in on the computer and you could see an ant on one of the flowers).
Brad has had this massive amount of amazing photography simply sitting idl, having been done purely for personal challenge much of the time. But after so many people seeing them and telling him they should be somewhere anyone can access them he has set up www.shottobits.com.au for that very reason.
Sure, there are plenty of fishing photos but take a look through the other galleries there and let us know what you think. Better yet, if you find an image you really think is amazing, copy and paste the link into the comments section below.
