I spent the afternoon down at Darling Harbour yesterday at the Boat Show to check out everything that’s new in the boating and fishing world. All of the big names in motors are there, Evinrude and Mercury, and the relative new kids on the block, in high performance engines in Australia, Yamaha with their new SHO.
Hobie is also represented at the show and have the new Pro Angler 12 on display.
Incidently, the PA12 recently won the “Best Boat of Show” at ICAST 2012, and is sure to be a major hit. If you’re in the market for a Hobie Kayak, there’s one to be won at the show, so get in there and speak to the guys on the Hobie Stand for details.
There are boats galore, both big and small, and, if it’s accessories you’re after, you can feast your eyes on all of the latest in electronics technology from all of the major brands including Humminbird and Lowrance.
On Saturday and Sunday, the weigh in for the BETS Bream Grand Final will be held at 2pm each day at the Harbourside Amphitheatre overlooking Cockle Bay. Ian and I will be there covering the event, so stay tuned for our Monday Morning Gallery next Monday.
With $20000 in prize money up for grabs it’s sure to be a hotly contested event. If you’ve never been to the weigh-in of a Bream Tournament, come down and check it out. If you’re up with it all, why not click through to our Facebook Page and let us know who you’re tipping to take it out… I’m tipping Scott and Vicki for Back to Back wins, or Ross and Alan to work their magic on the Harbour!
Here’s some highlights from last year’s event…
