New Location for the Sydney Boat Show

The Sydney International Boat Show has found a new home for 2014, 15 and 16 while the existing Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre undergoes a 3 year redevelopment commencing December 2013.  Since the announcement of the makeover, there has been a lot of speculation about another venue suitable to accommodate the Sydney International Boat Show considering the large display of boats that are usually exhibited not only in the Convention Centre but also on the Marina constructed within Cockle Bay.

During the 3 year construction period, the NSW Government has announced that an interim exhibition centre will be built on Glebe Island to host exhibitions and trade shows including the Sydney International Boat Show.  This undoubtedly will be a relief and welcomed decision for Sydney’s marine industry as the interim location will continue to allow an expansive show including the on water displays and exhibitions before returning to Darling Harbour in 2017 for it’s 50th anniversary.
