1. Whats your name and where are you from?
2. What part do you play in the fishing community today?
My main part is making short video clips for W.A’s recreational fishing peak body, Recfishwest. We shoot some informative videos as well as a mini doco series called “Fish Tales” which can be found on Recfishwest’s Youtube channel.
When I’m not doing that I’m working on my own video projects.
3. What was it that really got you into fishing and how old were you?
I started fishing very young, since I can remember, when my family would visit our Nanna and Pop down in Dawesville. We would go out in the estuary there chasing KG’s and Tailor mainly, plus herring off the beach. I was scared in the boat in the wind chop and would hide up front with the anchor and my other buddy the anchor rope, wishing we could go home.
4. What is your greatest fishing memory?
I have a few:
Once I was so keen to go fishing but I didn’t have any hooks so my dad sharpened a paper clip for me and off I went to catch nothing.
All of my catches on fly have been rad, they mostly have been with my mate Geoff Anderson, who has put me on the fish and talked me into them.
5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself, hopefully, still making fishing videos for a living and cleaning up after my two kids…probably more of the latter.
6. What’s top of the “bucket list”?
Ahhh bucket lists…these are funny.
7. Who do you look up to in the fishing community?
I mainly look up to those cats in the background, you know those rad anglers that kill it and aren’t known. They just go fishing cause they love it, you won’t see them on the forums or on FB they just go about their thing with their mates or by themselves, work it out all on their own and when you get to tag along, they are happy to get you onto some great fish so the moments can be shared. Those people are the real deal and the ones I want to surround myself with.
