Have your say: What gear do you use to blade for Bream?

DCIM100GOPRO

The blading season is approaching, and I’m interested to hear what gear everyone is using for this technique.

I’m not so interested in brands (note: the examples mentioned in the poll are not an endorsement for any product), but more so, I’m interested to hear what rod length, and action, line type and whether you’re using metal blades, resin blades, or plastic vibes. I’m sure that there will be as many answers to these questions as there are bream in Sydney Harbour, but I’m guessing that there will be trends that may vary between regions across the country and the specific structure/areas you fish.

For me, I tend to use a 6’8″ regular-fast action rod, running straight through fluorocarbon line. I tend to use smaller, metal blades in dark or natural colours, but tend to fish deep pylons, poles and docks when the fish move deeper.

So please take the time and have your say. I’m sure the results will make for some interesting reading.  You can view the results and make a comment by clicking on the “view results” link for each poll.
